Poster Design, Illustration, and Interactive Experiences Showcasing the Adventurous YETI Lifestyle
YETI is a globally recognized brand known for its premium outdoor products and dedication to championing adventure, community, and a bold approach to life. With a loyal customer base that values quality, durability, and performance, YETI’s brand is synonymous with outdoor exploration and rugged luxury.
Over an eight-year collaboration, while working at DesignGood, I worked closely with YETI’s internal retail and event marketing teams to develop a wide range of marketing assets, including retailer communications, training materials, poster designs, and custom illustrations. One standout project centered on designing interactive retail maps, a prototype concept to enhance customer engagement within YETI’s retail stores.

The interactive retail map project aimed to:
- Enhance In-Store Engagement: Provide YETI customers with a dynamic, interactive experience that encourages exploration within the store and links product use cases with local activities.
- Connect Customers with Local Communities: Highlight local ambassadors and outdoor activities tailored to each store’s regional audience.
- Showcase YETI’s Adventure-Driven Ethos: Reflect YETI’s commitment to community, exploration, and adventure through an immersive retail feature.
- Create a Scalable Digital Tool: Design a prototype that could be adapted across multiple retail locations and digital platforms.

Solutions Implemented
- Location-Specific Interactive Maps: Designed and illustrated maps for seven key locations:
- Austin, Charleston, Dallas, Denver, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, and Scottsdale.
- Each map reflected the unique outdoor culture of its region, featuring local activities and points of interest.
- Custom Icons and Visual Elements: Developed a suite of custom icons representing local ambassadors and activities such as hiking trails, fishing spots, and local landmarks. These icons enhanced the visual appeal and served as interactive touchpoints.
- Clickable, Interactive Experience: Designed tablet-sized maps with clickable icons that provided detailed information about each activity or ambassador when tapped. This created a seamless, engaging customer experience, blending physical retail spaces with digital storytelling.
- Scalable Retail Prototype: The maps were designed to prototype a potential in-store interactive wall concept, allowing YETI to test digital interactivity within retail environments and explore future scalability across additional store locations.









Supporting Projects
While the interactive maps were a key focus, I also worked on other projects that reinforced YETI’s brand consistency, including:
- Retail Production Design: Point-of-sale materials, retailer communications, and field guides featured in major retailers. Did you see a YETI retail sign in DICK’s, Academy, REI, Cabella’s, Bass Pro Shop, ACE, etc. from 2014-2023? That was my production design. 😉
- Event and Training Presentations: Dynamic training and event presentations that supported internal and external brand initiatives.
- Custom Illustrations and Poster Designs: Bold poster designs and illustrations celebrating YETI’s products, events, and adventurous spirit, further unifying the in-store experience.
